Fahrender Polka Punk
HoppaH! mischt alle Arten von tanzbarem europäischem Folk mit Ska, Reggae und Punk. Hopp-la-Hopp im September 2011 gegründet, haben diese quirligen Niederländer inzwischen so manch Festival sowohl zu Hause als auch in Belgien, Dänemark und Frankreich aufgemischt. 2013 veröffentlichten sie ihr erstes Album „HOPPAH!“, das von der Fachpresse gefeiert wurde. Zu Recht!
Pünktlich zu den 2016er PolkaBEATS wird ihre zweite Platte erscheinen. Die wird auch wieder gut bestückt mit zynischen Texten, flirrender Violine, sattem Gebläse, treibender Rhythmusgruppe und der unverwechselbaren, rauen Stimme von Serge van Laar.

It is very difficult (if not impossible) to stand still while watching and listening to one of the most energetic folk bands of The Netherlands: HoppaH! The band is especially suitable for festivals. HoppaH! mixes all kinds of danceable European folk (klezmer, Balkan, gipsy, Irish, French) with styles like ska, reggae and punk. The line-up consists of very experienced musicians. Instruments they play are violin, clarinet, trombone, accordion, bass and drums. The singer has his own distinctive, raw voice; very suitable for the rather cynical texts (in Dutch). All music and texts are self-written by the members of HoppaH! The band is founded in September 2011. After playing at a lot of festivals and other events, HoppaH! started recording its first CD/LP in winter 2012 and had its first CD/LP-presentation in June 2013. HoppaH! In April 2016, their second album will be released.
